What is "Synchronized Social Round Dance"? Round Dancing is synchronized choreographed ballroom dancing where the dance choreography is prompted by a dance professional. The rhythms and figures are phase rated I through VI - similar to the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels in Ballroom Dancing. The rhythms include the Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot,and Jive. Beginner Level Dance Lessons The social dance class is designed to introduce Social Round Dancing to the social and beginner dancer. Learn dance terminology and figure technique. Basic Phase I & II rhythms are the Waltz and Two-Step. Phase III lessons introduces the dancer to the Cha Cha, Jive, and Rumba rhythms. Dancers are introduced to short, easy choreography. There is no "dance sequences to memorize" since the dances figures are prompted to the dancer. This helps the dancer to concentrate on learning to lead & follow with their dance partner. |
Transition to Intermediate The Phase III class is designed for the experienced Round Dance dancer. Dance technique, body mechanics, and dance choreography are taught. Learn intermediate figures in the Cha Cha, Waltz, Jive rhythms and more. Dancers learn new choreographed dances every 3-4 weeks. Instructor figure and dance demonstrations help you learn the dance choreography. There is no "dance sequences to memorize" since the dances figures are prompted to the dancer.This helps the dancer to concentrate on leading & following and dancing with their dance partner. |
